Editor’s Note: This is a developing story update pending.

A suspect riding on a DART bus (Route 463) pulled a gun and required the driver to lead the police on a chase which ended in Rowlett. The suspect was killed during a shootout with the police. CPR was administered and he was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead.

Two officers were shot, but their injuries are not life-threatening. They have been transported to a local hospital. The bus driver and passenger were not injured.

Reportedly the suspect got on the bus on Buckingham Road around 11 a.m. and shot out several windows according to DART spokesman Mark Ball. He told the driver to take him to an undisclosed location. Officials have confirmed a passenger was on the bus.

The police chase went through multi-cities and ended at President George Bush Tollway and Liberty Grove Road in Rowlett. Gunfire was exchanged with the police and two officers were shot.

FBI, SWAT, bomb squad, Texas State Troopers, Garland Police, Rowlett Police and more officials are on the scene investigating the incident.

President George Bush Tollway is closed in the area and they do not have an estimate on when it will reopen.
