Universal Kids Resort Unveils Details of Themed Lands Featuring Interactive Play Areas and More

FRISCO — Universal Destinations & Experiences has unveiled details about Universal Kids Resort, a new theme park designed specifically for families with young children, set to open in 2026 in Frisco, Texas. The resort will feature seven immersive lands where kids can explore, imagine, and play.

The Seven Themed Lands Include:

  • DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp – Meet Shrek and Fiona, explore the onion carriage, and play in Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp or Splash & Smash.

  • DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots – Join Puss, Mama Luna, and Perrito, and enjoy carnival games like Barriles de Leche and El Gato’s Meow.

  • Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club – Watch Yellow Minions take on their Purple counterparts, enjoy water play, and meet the Minions.

  • Jurassic World Adventure Camp – Encounter baby dinosaurs, climb Lookout Towers, and explore dino-themed play areas.

  • DreamWorks’ TrollsFest – Dance and play with Poppy, Branch, and the Trolls gang across interactive areas like Poppy’s Playland and Trolls Critter Crawl.

  • Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom – Meet SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy, explore Mussel Beach, and splash around Pineapple Paradise.

  • Isle of Curiosity – Enter through a whimsical gateway for exploration, including meet-and-greets. With Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse and themed dance parties.

“Universal Kids Resort embodies the spirit of play, creativity, and imagination,” said Molly Murphy, President of Universal Creative. “It’s a destination where families can enjoy beloved characters and stories close to home.”

The park is designed through a child’s perspective, encouraging unbridled creativity, curiosity, and interactive play. According to Brian Robinson, EVP and Chief Creative Officer at Universal Creative, the park provides opportunities for kids to explore, discover, and create.

In addition to attractions, the resort includes sensory gardens for children and families. This allows time to pause, reset, and connect in calming, nature-inspired spaces.
