The Downtown Plano Arts District is calling all young artists to take part in its first-ever Street Banner Design Contest.
Youth ages 5 to 18 are encouraged to create original artwork inspired by the winter season in Downtown Plano. Ten winners will have their artwork featured on banners displayed throughout the Historic Downtown area. Each winning artist will also receive a $100 prize.
Who Can Participate
The contest is open to artists ages 5 to 18 who live within the Plano ISD boundaries.
Submission Guidelines
Art must be vertical and feature bold colors with minimal white space. Digital entries should be high-resolution. Physical artwork should be created on unlined paper or canvas.

How to Submit
Participants can submit vertical artwork (8×11 inches) in one of two ways:
-
Digital art: Email entries to michelleha@plano.gov.
-
Physical art: Drop off at Bibliobar, Ten 20 Art Gallery, or the Plano Municipal Center labeled “ATTN: Michelle Hawkins.” Include the artist’s name, age, and parent’s contact information on the back.
All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on November 11. Winners will be notified by November 24. Please note that artwork will not be returned.
This is a chance for local youth to make their mark on Downtown Plano and bring the winter spirit to life for the entire community.
