Midlake Shares New Single “Eyes Full of Animal” Ahead of Sixth Album A Bridge To Far

DALLAS – Midlake has released their new single “Eyes Full of Animal”. The track comes ahead of the highly anticipated sixth studio album, A Bridge To Far, arriving Friday, Nov. 7.

Produced by Sam Evian, the album features guest vocals from Madison Cunningham, Hannah Cohen, and Meg Lui. Pre-orders and pre-saves for the album are available now.

Critics have already praised the upcoming album. MOJO gave it four stars, calling it “a bold and beautiful record borne of quiet surety. This is their best since The Trials of Van Occupanther.”

Uncut also gave the album high marks, describing it as “sumptuous… A Bridge To Far finds Midlake refining what they do best: folk, psychedelia, pastoral rock, and ravishing harmonies.”

Following the earlier singles “The Ghouls”, “Days Gone By”, and “The Calling”, the new single “Eyes Full of Animal” highlights Midlake’s groove-based psychedelic sound. It serves as the final pre-release track before the album drops.

The “Days Gone By” music video, directed by Taylor McFadden and produced by Lavinia Jones Wright, stars Emmy-nominated actor James Lance. Choreography by Phil Cogan blends celebration and melancholy, capturing the sun-soaked end-of-summer mood.

Additional acclaim for A Bridge To Far has poured in from major outlets:

  • PROG: “Texan’s sixth album finds them in exquisite form. The band develops their sound while retaining hallmarks beloved by fans.”

  • Americana UK: “A fine album. It is hard to believe Midlake have been around for a quarter century.”

  • Echoes & Dust: “A balanced, accomplished work – melodically strong, yielding greater depth on repeated listening.”

Fans can watch the visualizer for “Eyes Full of Animal” online now and pre-order or pre-save A Bridge To Far to enjoy the full album upon release.

Midlake’s sixth album solidifies their reputation for blending folk, psychedelia, and pastoral rock, while maintaining originality and emotional depth.
