Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has introduced new touchscreen Ticket Vending Machines across its system, giving riders a faster and more convenient way to purchase fares. The upgraded machines are designed to support a wider range of payment options, languages, and customer needs.
The new DART ticket vending machines allow riders to purchase a Day Pass or 3-Hour Pass, reload their GoPass® app using cash, and check their GoPass® account balance and transaction history. The machines offer support in 11 languages, improving accessibility for riders across the region.
Passengers can pay with cash, credit or debit cards, or mobile wallets, including Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet. For cash transactions where change cannot be provided, the machine issues a voucher with a QR code that can be redeemed at any DART ticket machine.
“DART’s new ticket vending machines make it easier for customers to pay—they’re designed to support multiple payment methods, connect to the GoPass app, dispense Tap cards, and operate in 11 different languages,” said Jamie Adelman, EVP and Chief Financial Officer.
“These machines will visibly improve the rider experience and reduce fare evasion, all as part of a larger effort to modernize our fare collection system.”

The new machines will replace older units through mid-2026. During the transition, DART encourages customers to use another available TVM or the GoPass® app if a machine is temporarily offline or being upgraded. The rollout supports DART’s long-term goals to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on cash-based payments.
The machines are already installed on all rail platforms and at the Northwest Plano Park & Ride. Riders can select fares, purchase up to five passes at once, and tap their card at the reader before boarding. For cash payments, the machines accept coins and most bill denominations except pennies, and will provide a QR-coded voucher.
