Urban League of Greater Dallas 5K Fun Walk/Run

Over 200 joggers and walkers from Wheatland United Methodist Church, Sam’s locations throughout the Metroplex, Dallas Mayor Star Council, Dallas community teams and the Urban League will participate in the Urban League 5K Fun Walk/Run.

Funds from this event will help the League construct a 50,000 square foot Trades/Technical Skills Training Center here in Oakcliff. This expansion will fill a tremendous need to create positive changes in the Southern Sector of Dallas as well as provide career alternatives in fields such as mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, Basic CADD Drafting, A+ and other computer certifications, construction materials, welding, green jobs training and other areas as identified based on demand.

The Urban League of Greater Dallas 5k FUN WALK/RUN is on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 a.m. Closing/ Awards Ceremony is at 11 a.m. at Kiest Park, 2179 West Kiest. The cost is $25 per person and $10 per persons with a team of 5 or more.

The starting line host includes Steve Pickett of CBS 11.
