Is it a collection or clutter?

The new year has begun and some of us have clean-up, remodel, update — do SOMETHING — to our home. We tell ourselves we are going to bite the bullet and purge.  But once we start the battle begins, either with ourselves or family members who feel like, “You simply can’t throw that away!” Houzz has a post to help us buckle down and get started entitled, Clutter vs. Keepers: A Guide to New Year’s Purging

Fifteen years ago, I was told every person should have a spot in their home that is their sanctuary, even if you cannot find a separate room, at least a favorite chair in a corner where you love to read or journal. Well I am still looking for that sanctuary, because unfortunately, I am a little bit of a back rat. I try to save everything because either I like the way it looks, or one day I will read the entire box of Martha Stewart magazines I bought off eBay, or…well you get the picture.

Check out Houzz’s article to try and figure out is it clutter or is it a collection?
