The History of the Buffalo Soldiers in Texas presentation in Irving on Saturday

The Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center will present a special Buffalo Soldier event.  Rosieletta “Lee” Reed will present the history of the Buffalo Soldiers in Texas and the individual story of Cathay Williams, the only documented female Buffalo Soldier.

The Museums will be open for tours from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. with the special program beginning at 2 p.m.  Children and adults can also join in a scavenger hunt for historic facts at the museum. Free and for all ages.

The event is scheduled for 2 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center located at 3925 Jackson St. in Irving.
