Happy 40th Birthday Bun B!

Happy Birthday Bun B!!!

The Godfather of hip-hop, Bun B, turns 40 today!

Port Arthur, Texas native Bun B , Bernard Freeman, first stepped onto the hip-hop scene in 1987 with partner in rhyme Pimp C, the Underground Kingz (UGK), became a prominent fixture of  hip hop. The tag team served up several classic albums before Pimp’s untimely death in 2007.

*Fun Fact: At the start of the Spring 2011 semester, Bun B joined the faculty of Rice University as a Distinguished Lecturer.  He taught a course in the School of the Humanities on Hip Hop and Religion.
