Irving Police issue warning regarding prowler

IrvingPoliceIRVING – The Irving Police Department is currently investigating a series of incidents that have occurred at apartment complexes in the area of Belt Line Rd. between Northgate and Walnut Hill. In each incident, the resident was startled by a male who had gained entry into their apartment or was attempting to gain entry. All of the incidents have been reported within the last week and are occurring in the late evening or early morning hours while the residents are asleep. Investigators believe the same male is involved in all of the events due to his description and actions during the encounters. The suspect has been described as a black male between 5’8” and 5’10” with a medium build.

The suspect was able to gain entry into two of the apartments through an unlocked door or window, so police are urging residents to ensure their doors and windows are locked.

The Irving Police Department has extra patrol and additional police resources deployed in the area looking for the suspect and all of the apartment complexes in the area have been notified. Police feel that getting the information to residents and making them aware of what has taken place will assist in preventing further incidents. If you witness anything or anyone suspicious in the area, police are asking that you immediately contact the Irving Police Department by dialing 9-1-1.
