Charges filed in four-fatality crash

indexThe Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office formally charged a 16-year old juvenile with four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault in connection with the Burleson wreck that left four dead and two others severely injured.

The teen appeared with his attorneys this afternoon at the Scott D. Moore Juvenile Justice Center for a detention hearing regarding keeping the teen in custody pending trial. The Judge released the teen to his parents with an ankle monitor.

We plan to seek a determinate sentence for the teen and, if the grand jury approves our request, the teen could face up to 20 years behind bars if convicted. A trial date has not yet been set.

Because this case is pending, we are precluded from publicly discussing specific details of the case or investigation and we will not be giving sound bites or on-camera interviews.
