On Saturday, September 14 Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson will host her 21st annual Community Appreciation Day for the constituents of Texas’ 30th congressional district. The program will include live music, multi-cultural performances, blood donation drive, blood pressure screenings, free health services, bone marrow screenings, and many more family orientated activities. A special part of the program will include Congresswoman honoring a WWII Veteran Mr. Bennie Cooper of Dallas.
The Congresswoman uses this day to celebrate and showcase the diversity that is within the local community. She also uses this time to acknowledge and thank all the many people that make contributions to the local community. Every year hundreds of people come out to support and participate in Community Appreciation Day.
The 21st Annual Community Appreciation Day will be kickoff at 11 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. at the DeSoto Civic Center Outdoor Pavilion located at 211 E. Pleasant Run Road.
