Richland College receives a $358,246 job training grant from business consortium partners

richlandAUSTIN – A five-member business consortium has partnered with Richland College to provide job training for 345 new and incumbent workers using a $358,246 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The business consortium includes Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions LLC, the Buferd Co. Inc., Work Area Protection Corp., RHE Hatco Inc. and the Sherwin Williams Co.

The grant will be used to provide essential safety and advanced industry specific training leading to certifications and advanced skills. Those trained will include technicians, machine operators and painters. Upon completion of the training, workers will earn an average hourly wage of $20.31.
