DISD changing school hours for next year

DISD-Logo-300DALLAS—Hours of operation for all schools are changing next school year. The school day for full-day prekindergarten, elementary, vanguard and Montessori schools will run from 7:55 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.

Classes at middle schools and academies will begin at 8:35 a.m. and end at 3:35 p.m. At high schools, magnets and early colleges, classes will begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m.

All high schools and magnet schools will follow a seven- or eight-period traditional schedule. Middle schools will follow a seven-period traditional schedule.

Exceptions to these schedules will only be made with the approval of the appropriate division assistant superintendent and chief of School Leadership.
