Demonstration planned for Monroe Bird III

stand for monroeSupporters of Monroe Bird III, the paralyzed 21-year-old Tulsa man shot by a security guard, are planning a demonstration tonight at 6 p.m. outside of the offices of Tulsa District Attorney’s office. They want to put pressure on the DA Steve Kunzweiler who they feel has taken no action on pressing charges.

Also, they want to bring attention to the fact that for reasons unknown Healthcare Solutions, Bird’s healthcare provider has denied benefits for his care. Paralyzed from the neck down since the Feb. 4 shooting, Bird remains in the hospital on a machine to help with him breath. As a result of this denial, Bird’s family is facing massive bills and this could impact his ability to get on-going treatment at rehab facility.
