Lindsey Sanders Promoted to Principal of John Haley Elementary School

lindseyLindsey Sanders, who is currently an assistant principal at John Haley Elementary School, has been selected to lead the school as its new principal.

Sanders’ career in education began in 2006 as a fourth-grade teacher at Irving ISD’s Schulze Elementary School. She worked at Schulze until 2012, having also taught fifth grade and having served as the campus instructional specialist from 2010 to 2012. She worked for two years as an assistant principal at Irving ISD’s Lively Elementary School and joined John Haley Elementary School as an assistant principal this fall. In addition, she successfully served as interim principal from October 2013 to January 2014 while Principal NeTassha Rendon was on maternity leave.

With a passion for early childhood education, Sanders is excited to begin her next journey as principal.  “It is a true honor to continue working with the wonderful students, parents, and staff at John Haley Elementary School,” says Sanders. “Our campus has a genuine focus on finding a way for each and every student to become successful, contributing members of our community – and I am proud to be the principal of such an amazing school.”

Associate Superintendent of Academic Services Adam Grinage, Ed.D., says Mrs. Sanders has demonstrated throughout her teaching and administrative career that she is dedicated to the success of each student in her class or her school. “Her energy, passion and focus on student achievement will help J. Haley Elementary continue on its path of success,” he says. “The administration is very pleased to have Mrs. Sanders serve as the new principal of J. Haley Elementary.”

At a staff meeting this afternoon, Dr. Parra announced that Sanders would be promoted to principal for the 2015-2016 school year as current Principal NeTassha Rendon has decided to stay home with her two young children.

Sanders earned a Master of Educational Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies from the University of North Texas.
