City of Plano introduces four communication tools

Keeping the Plano community informed and engaged in dialogue is an important component of the Plano City Council’s 2012 Strategic Vision.

To increase dialogue opportunities four new programs have joined the City’s communications arsenal enabling citizens to connect with the City through computer, smartphone or tablet applications. Each is offered at no cost with some requiring online subscription.

Engage Plano is an online town hall forum where participants are encouraged to propose ideas and provide feedback on a variety of City of Plano municipal topics.

My Tax Dollars is a handy tool enabling residents to figure their estimated property tax and compare tax rates among neighboring cities.

Through Plano City News, subscribers can stay informed about Plano municipal government activities and services, including messages from City Council and updates from City Council meetings.

Blackboard Connect contacts citizens with emergency or important City announcements via any combination of messaging they choose: calls, texts or emails.

Through the City’s web portal, Connect With Us, these four new tools are available at no cost, along with options for other communications, such as Facebook and various municipal departmental notifications and news.

The City of Plano does not sell any telephone, email or personal information. Any subscriptions are confidential.
