Christian Chapel Temple of Faith CME (CCTOF) issued a statement indicating they have selected a new pastor, Rev. Kwesi R. Kamau. He replaces Dr. Jerome McNeil who passed away following worship service on Sunday, July 15.
“It is with great expectation and anticipation of the great things God is going to do that Christian Chapel Temple of Faith CME church announces the appointment of Rev. Kwesi R. Kamau, former pastor of Morning Chapel CME church in Fort Worth, Texas, as its new pastor.” Rev. Kamau was appointed pastor of CCTOF during the DFW Region Annual Conference July 25, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas by Bishop Henry Williamson.
Rev. Kwesi R. Kamau’s life mission is to help people live courageously in Christ. He is gifted with the ability to teach and inspire others to walk with wisdom. One of his life’s goals is to foster discipleship small groups that will nurture believers into maturity in Christ. He has worked closely with several human service organizations including One Church One School Community Partnership Program and Samaritan’s Feet International.
He has studied across the United States and abroad visiting countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He attended Wheaton College and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where he earned his Master’s of Divinity. He has served in ministry for over 20 years in the Midwest, the South and on the West Coast. He is the author of published articles and the books, A Passion for Souls: Encouragement for the Day and A Passion for Prayer: The Secret is Out.
He and his wife Monti have five children, Nia Adeyla, Jada Ahriye, Bailey Imani, Josiah Christian and Jeremiah Richard.
Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal/White Rock Chapel Methodist Church was the first African American Church established in Far North Dallas and is believed to be the first such establishment for African Americans in the North Texas Area. A church where Jesus is the Main Attraction, CCTOF moved to its sanctuary, the Temple of Faith, in January of 1999 under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Jerome McNeil, Jr. It has a membership of over 6,000.
