2 pedestrian fatalities in Dallas

Officers responded to a major accident at 7:57 pm on September 15, 2012 at 2700 W. Northwest Hwy. A 7 year old Latin female was crossing the street with a family member when she was struck by two vehicles. She was transported to Children’s Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

The name of the deceased is Devora Lopez, born on 11-20-04. The description of the suspect vehicle is a black 2004-2009 Dodge Durango. The vehicle will have damage to the front left headlight. Accident investigators will be reviewing video that may possibly show the suspect vehicle. At this time due to the investigation, the video will not be released until the accident investigator can review it. The case numbers are 230692-Z and 230689-Z

Another pedestrian fatality happened on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at about 7:56pm. Complainant James Sadler B/M/71 was a pedestrian crossing from the south to the north curb, not at a crosswalk, in the 1400 block of E. Illinois Ave. Complainant Sadler failed to yield the right of way to a 1995 GMC Sierra Pick Up that was westbound.  The complainant was struck and thrown approx. 20 feet.  The complainant was transported to Methodist Central Hospital where he died of his injuries on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at 2:20am. The driver of the GMC Sierra pickup remained at the scene after accident. The case numbers for this fatality accident are 230755-Z and 230756-Z.
