GARLAND — The West Garland Library, located at 3921 W. Walnut St., officially opened its doors to the public on Saturday, Oct. 25, providing residents with a modern, community-centered space for learning, imagination, and connection.
Library Director Karen Archibald described the facility as “a space built with purpose, vision and deep pride in what this community can become when we invest in learning, in imagination and in one another.”

A Modern Hub for Learning and Recreation
Constructed through the 2019 Build Garland bond program, the West Garland Library replaces the aging Walnut Creek Branch Library and nearly doubles the previous service area. The building features vibrant glass, high windows, and bold architectural lines, creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for patrons of all ages.
Hollabaugh Park now stands as the first and only location in Garland to combine a library and recreation center, offering the community a central hub for both educational and recreational activities.
