PLANO — Before heating the oil, join Plano Fire-Rescue for family fun. The City of Plano’s Environmental Health and Sustainability Department will co-host a free event focused on safety and sustainability.
Meanwhile, the event titled Turkey Fry Fun: Gobbles, Games and Guidance will run from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 15. It will be held at the Plano Fire-Rescue Training Center located at 4637 McDermott Road.
Moreover, families can enjoy food, fun, and fire safety education. The event aims to keep Thanksgiving safe, sustainable, and delicious.

Additionally, guests can watch the dramatic “Turkey Fryer Fiasco” demonstration. This live presentation shows what happens when turkey frying goes wrong.
Furthermore, firefighters will share essential tips for safe cooking and fire prevention. City staff will also provide guidance on food handling, oil disposal, and eco-friendly practices for the holidays.
Importantly, the event offers family-friendly fun for all ages. Activities include a touch-a-truck experience, games, giveaways, and tours of the training center.
Finally, guests can sample fried turkey and enjoy hands-on learning. Admission is free, but space is limited.
