Irving hosting MWBE workshop on July 28

(NDG Wire) The City of Irving (Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise) MWBE Program is inviting the business community to attend the second workshop in their 2010-2011 series. Last quarter, over 60 people attended the inaugural workshop on “Getting the Assistance you Need to Grow Your Business.”

The program will continue to focus on topics helpful to MWBE businesses. Future workshop topics include “Using Technology to Effectively Market & Grow your Business”, “Co-operative Purchasing Programs – Another Area of Opportunity for MWBE Businesses”, a construction forum, an IT forum as well as a workshop on Annual Contracts.

The next workshop is “Funding – Traditional and Alternatives Sources of Capital.” Representatives from the banking industry, Accion, MBEC and the SBA will be on hand to talk about loans and alternatives for raising capital for your small business.

The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, July 28 from 1-3 p.m. at North Lake College – South Campus. The Dallas County Community College is located at 1081 West Shady Grove Road in Irving.
