‘American Idol’: recap of solo night during Hollywood Week

So these are my brief thoughts as I watched last night’s show:

Halley Reinhart – the 1st contestant of the day sung with more emotion than real voice quality.

Ashton Jones – did a great job with the unofficial black female singer anthem I’m not going no where.

Thia Mega – Asians represent! I also liked her multi-print sweater

Frances Coontz – how the heck did she make this far??????

Clint Jun Gamboa – I still want to hate him for how cold he treated Jacee

Kendra Chantelle – she did a nice job with Georgia, but seriously why was Steven Tyler get teary eyed?

Carson Higgins – the boy has fire and crowds love him.

Chris Medina – no son My Prerogative should not be slowed down. (should have gone home)

Robbie Rosen – that was a lovely song that I did not recognize, and except for the last note, you can close your eyes and enjoy listening to his music.

Casey Abrams – I enjoyed the flavor the bass brought to Georgia. His voice is not impressive but you remember him.

Chelsea – Miss I don’t need my ex-boyfriend and weeping because her roommate bailed out due to illness, was just OK. Not surprised she went home.

Jacob Lusk – Unlike the judges and audience I was not overwhelmed with his renedition of God Bless the Child. Weeping was not a sight to see either.

Ashley Sullivan – the emotional time bomb has exploded, let’s move on but wow what a lovely running hug from her boyfriend (should have gone home)

Jovany Barrato – the next Marc Anthony

Jacee B – he likely won’t go real far in the competition but he is a sweet kid.

Scotty & Tatynisa Wilson – messed up a song I love, I Hope You Dance. Glad Scotty is moving on but he likely won’t make it too far since he is limited to country music with his voice. Also, hopefully SOMEONE will give that girl a makeover.
