NDG Gossip: Another Long accuser comes along, yet the blind stay

By Tonya Whitaker
NDG Staff Writer

First there were Spencer LeGrande, Jamal Parris, Anthony Flagg, Maurice Robinson and now Centino Kemp. I wonder how many other men are going to come forward with accusations of inappropriate conduct with Bishop Eddie Long. As more “victims” surface, some members of his flock at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church continue to stand behind Long. I am

Long
not in the position to judge anyone, but what will it take until these people see there is a problem. It seems they are trying to turn this man into a demigod. Are they putting more faith in Long over God? Now, in the beginning I kinda understood their unwavering support because, in America, we are innocent until proven guilty. But, since Long decided to settle out of court with the first four accusers, we will never know if he was guilty as sin or the victim of a witch hunt. Since Long did not fight to defend his name, it seems he is admitting guilt. Remember, silence is not always golden. With Kemp’s revelation, it would not surprise me to see some of those who are not so blind to take their tithes elsewhere.

Rowland takes different route
Former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland recently released her third solo album, Here I Am. Wonderful, but it behooves my why she would have to stoop so low to get record sales. Instead of resting on talent, Rowland has decided to rest on sex. Rowland decided to bare all for the cover of Vibe magazine’s JUICE issue. Her last CD, Ms. Kelly, was not exactly a flop, so why do whatever it takes to sell a record? It is sad. At the BET Awards 11 in June, she was censored during her performance of Motivation with Trey Songz. Since the cameras zoomed out on the on-stage action, it is believed that she was being spanked by Songz. Since Mathew Knowles is no longer her manager, she has to do something to sell records and pay those bills, bills, bills.
