A male once told me that men don’t have drama. Bull. They do. If you are of the same opinion of my former acquaintance, read on because it was definitely found in Las Vegas on Sept. 17 during and after the Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz fight. I love sports, but boxing is not one of my favorites. But, after all the shenanigans that took place after Saturday night’s battle, I might have to reconsider.
Drama 1: The Fight.
The fight ended with Mayweather sending a powerful right hook to the jaw of Ortiz. After the fight, things got pretty interesting. According to Straight from the A, in the post-fight interview, Mayweather cusses out HBO announcer Larry Merchant, telling Merchant that he didn’t know “s***t about boxing.” Mayweather probably was shocked as heck when Merchant replied, “If I was 50 years younger, I’d kick your ass!” Straight from the A did post a video of the interview, but it was taken down for copyright reasons. But, Merchant’s photos are still there. He looked as if he saw a ghost; I think he was shocked Mayweather was talking smack like that. The 80-year-old Merchant told USA Today on Sept. 19 he has no regrets for what he said to the boxer. One thing is for sure: Mayweather was instantly chopped down to size
Drama 2: The After Party.
I have never been a fan of Brandy’s little brat brother, Ray-J. He gets on my nerves. During a post-Mayweather-Ortiz gathering at the Moon night club inside The Palms in Las Vegas, the brat took his beef with rapper Fabulous from Twitter to the club. Young, Black and Fabulous reported, after he and Fabulous exchanged words, a scuffle ensued and Ray-J he ended up slapping the rapper. Ray-J escorted out of the club. Ray told TMZ he was briefly detained by the police, but no arrests were made. I am telling you, Ray-J is useless. What has he ever done beside a pointless reality show, a sex tape with Kim K. and bland music? Go sit down somewhere and stop embarrassing yourself and your family.
