Dallas woman jailed after man found dead and castrated

by Latrisha McDuffie

Cristal Paulette Richardson will face charges for the vicious killing of Cedric Lamont Owens, 34. The 28-year-old woman from Dallas is accused of severing Owens’ penis before cutting his throat and stabbing him to death at Motel 6 in the Fair Park area Saturday night.

Reports detail that Richardson checked into the motel room Friday alone. At approximately 4 o’clock on Saturday, a motel security guard heard a male and female fighting on the third-floor of the motel, according to The Dallas Morning News. When the guard reached the third floor, he witnessed Richardson naked, covered in blood, walking down the hall. Police reported observing “offensive cuts” on her finger and hands. Parkland Memorial Hospital treated Richardson for wounds to her hands.

The police was allowed into the room by the hotel manager and discovered Owens with ‘multiple stab wounds to his upper body, his throat was cu and there was a traumatic amputation of the penis and scrotum’, according to medical reports. Homicide detectives obtained a search warrant and later entered the motel room and discovered a bloody folding knife. A motive has yet to be determined in the case.

Richardson was held at the Dallas County Jail. Her bail was set at $200,000.

Owens and Richardson both have criminal records that include felony convictions.

Richardson’s record includes convictions for driving while intoxicated, theft, marijuana possession, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Owens’ record includes convictions for evading arrest, drug possession, and domestic violence assault.
