Pastor Creflo Dollar denies allegations of hitting and choking daughter

By Kendria Brown, NDG Intern

The popular pastor of World Changers Church International has been accused of more than just disciplining his children. Early Friday morning his 15-year-old daughter claimed that after her father denied her permission to attend a party, he got physical. According to her he hit and choked her, leaving visible marks.

Preaching to the choir, Dollar professed his innocence during this past Sunday service when he stated, “The truth is, she was not choked, she was not punched [sic]. There were not any scratches on her neck, but the only thing on her neck was a prior skin abrasion from eczema. Anything else is exaggeration and sensationalism.”

Exaggeration and sensationalism is right since the pastor has been charged with battery misdemeanor and cruelty to children. When he was arrested, his victimized 15-year-old daughter and his 19-year-old daughter both said the argument escalated to a fight over whether she could go to a party. I know we must discipline our daughters, but when police are called the truth is probed and more often misconstrued.

Who is to blame here – the daughter, the dad, or the police? One thing is for sure, Dollar was made out to be the culprit in this mix and his minister status did not help his situation one bit.

Being human we make mistakes and this was a case of just that. Visit NorthDallasGazette.com or our Facebook page and tell me if you agree.

  1. No, I don’t agree with you. It is possible, though not likely, that the daughter – correction, the two daughters – were lying. It is far more likely that they were telling the truth, and Creflo Dollar was lying. He has more to lose. It is disgraceful that the girl who was probably physically abused is being called a liar by people who know nothing of the reality. I don’t know what happened, either. I just know that in most cases, children who report abuse tell the truth. This needs to be examined by proper law enforcement personnel. Dollar’s arrest was entirely appropriate. His daughter should get the benefit of the doubt – not him.
