July 4 Historical Moment

In 1900 on this day, extraordinary jazz musician Louis Armstrong was born. He provided the world with so much musical brilliance and soul. Armstrong is from New Orleans, Lousiana and was skilled with the cornet instrument. Louis played for Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band in Chicago in 1922 and in 1924 he married pianoist Lillian Hardin. He recorded great songs throughout the years with various bands and remained on the road for some time and toured across country. Popular hits by him included Hello Dolly 1963, and What a Wondeful World 1968. Louis has set the path for other musicians to come and will definitely always be an excellent figue of inspiration.
