Democratic National Convention kicks off tonight

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) kicks off tonight as they try to present their case to the voters on why they should keep their majority in the U.S. Senate and re-elect President Barack Obama.

The agenda will address the issues the economy faces today and look back to spotlight the progress made during his first term. President Obama is seeking to defend their position from attacks GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney launched last week during the Republican National Convention. The GOP indicated President Obama is to blame for the state of the economy today.

“”We’re going to lay out the case for moving the economy forward. President Obama and speakers throughout the week will talk about and have an honest conversation about where we were when he first took office and where we are now after four years of his policies and 29 straight months of job growth in the private sector. And that we need to continue to move forward and we’ve got a ways to go.”

First lady Michelle Obama will address the convention Tuesday night, and former President Bill Clinton headlines the second night before Obama concludes it with his nationally televised address Thursday night.”

  1. It would be really nice if the U.S. made the television stations that they signed up with provide “free” access to all of the Presidential debates. That’s what is wrong with capitalism. The large cable companies make an affordable package that doesn’t give you access and you can’t pay an extra dollar to see it, you have to upgrade and pay $30 to $50 more for a year! Go Bernie Sanders! Capitalism is only good for the rich!
