TRMC-Sunnyvale expands its emergency department

CEO and president of TRMC- Sunnyvale Stephen Garrison

Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale added seven beds to its emergency department recently, doubling the department’s bed count. The $100,000 expansion will better accommodate the more than 500,000 people in TRMC-Sunnyvale’s growing service area.

Patient visits to TRMC-Sunnyvale’s emergency department increased from 18,000 in 2010 to 26,000 in 2011. TRMC-Sunnyvale expects to record nearly 30,000 patient visits to its emergency department in 2012.

“This expansion should accommodate Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale’s patient traffic for the next few years,” said Stephen Garrison, CEO and president of TRMC-Sunnyvale.
