Text4baby and Tyrese partner to deliver mobile health information to new and expecting moms

Quincy Jones III (QD3) co-founder of Feel Rich

Text4baby, the free mobile health service for pregnant women and new moms, announced a partnership today with multi-platinum recording artist Tyrese Gibson and Feel Rich, the first ever multicultural health and fitness media company. The partnership, Feel Rich Moms, will raise awareness of text4baby, encourage moms to sign up for this critical service, and culminate with a custom lullaby for a lucky family, created by Tyrese and Quincy Jones III (QD3) co-founder of Feel Rich.

Feel Rich Moms will tap into the highly engaged Feel Rich multicultural community, its network of social media influencers, and use the power of authentic celebrity role models to drive awareness and enrollment in text4baby. Text4baby participants receive health and safety education messages timed to their due date or baby’s birth date directly on their cell phones. Access to information is vital for a healthy pregnancy, and infant mortality is a health crisis that disproportionately affects the African-American community. African-American babies are 2.3 times as likely to die before their first birthdays, compared to their non-Hispanic white peers.

“I was raised by a single parent growing up in South Central, Los Angeles,” said Tyrese Gibson. “It is an honor to be part of this program to help reach mothers, who through all of life’s adversity, put the health of their children first. If, in any way, my voice can be heard by a mother with a newborn or an expectant mom and be helpful in getting information to them, then I will know that being a part of the partnership with text4baby and Johnson & Johnson will have a positive effect on the community.”

The central piece of this partnership will be a contest; the grand prize winner will receive a customized lullaby for her baby written and recorded by Tyrese and produced by QD3. One runner-up will receive a year’s supply of Johnson’s Baby products, courtesy of text4baby founding sponsor, Johnson & Johnson. To enter the contest for free, text the word “BABY” to 511411, and when prompted, enter the participant code FEELRICH.

Feel Rich Moms is an integral step in text4baby’s outreach efforts as we work to support multicultural families and young mothers who can benefit from the service’s important health messages,” said Sarah Ingersoll, text4baby Campaign Director. “We are thrilled to welcome QD3, Tyrese, and the entire Feel Rich community as they join us in executing text4baby’s critical mission.”
