Dangerous Guitar and Eddie Deen’s Ranch are hosting a free concert and guitar clinic to raise funds for area nonprofits

Music lovers and guitar enthusiasts will be treated to a free concert and clinic Saturday, Jan. 20, 2013 at Eddie Deen’s Ranch 944 South Lamar. World renowned recording artists and music instructors will perform for free and give free guitar lessons during this daylong event. Participants are asked to make a donation to three area nonprofit organizations in lieu of purchasing tickets.

“The giving season is not over,” said Doug Stouffer, owner of Dangerousguitar.com. “We are dedicated to changing the world one guitarist at a time and using the power of music to change lives.”

Headliners include George Lynch of Dokken and Lynch Mob, Jazz Legend Clint Strong, Redd Volkaert (formerly with Merle Haggard and won a Grammy with Brad Paisley), Texas Blues master Lance Lopez, author-instructor-recording artist Doug Stouffer, Dallas Guitar legend Jerry Don Branch, Shooting Star Gun Slinger Neil Swanson and others.

The Day With Dangerous Guitar Opens at 10 a.m. with a guitar clinic taught by Lance Lopez and ends later that night with an all star jam session starting at 9:45 p.m. There will be food and drinks and other activities throughout the day. As an added extra, there will be large screens streaming the playoffs throughout the venue.

Stouffer said, “our goal has always been a simple one, share what we love with the world and allow access to learning to play without time schedules or forced deadlines. Learning can be fun and it is a simple process of realizing that the guitarist is within all of us, just waiting to come out and kick up the volume and rock the house.”

One of the concert’s beneficiaries will be Girls Rock Dallas, a nonprofit organization that offers music instruction as well as a variety of life-skill workshops in an all-female oriented atmosphere. Our primary goal is to empower girls through music education and creativity in a safe community for the girls, thereby cultivating higher self-esteem and confidence.

“Music and the love for music can change lives,” said Rachel Michaud, Executive Director Girls Rock Dallas. “We are glad to be a part of an event that encourages listening and learning.”

Nonprofit organizations will be on hand to showcase their work and to answer questions from concert goers. Recipients will be asked to make a donation to area non profits in lieu of paying for a concert tickets. Also, signed guitars will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to the organizations.

Anyone interested in attending the event would need to go to http://dangerousguitar.eventbrite.com/ and sign up for tickets and the clinics.
