On Saturday, June 1, 2013, the Southern University Alumni Federation-Dallas chapter will sponsor their annual Bayou Bash fundraiser. Bayou Bash is an outdoor picnic-style event where authentic Louisiana cuisine is enjoyed.
This marks the 30th year of this wonderful event and this will be an effort to raise scholarship and recruitment funds for DFW Metroplex students to attend Southern University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Southern University was chartered in 1880 by the Louisiana Legislature and for the past 133 years our graduates have distinguished themselves in the areas of technology, business, education, law, community service, sports, music and all levels of Government. Our local alumni chapter is one of many chapters of the National Southern University Alumni Federation.
The event had an attendance of 800+ last year and we are planning for that attendance and more this year. .
The deadline for reserving a spot is Friday, May 24, 2013.
