Letter to the Editor: Is Cowboy Stadium safe from a Boston Marathon bombing type attack?

As the Dallas Cowboys players began their “voluntary” offseason workouts on Monday, the nation reeled from the latest terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon with two bomb explosions near the finish line. Late Monday evening, a reader emailed NDG raising the question if sports fans can truly be protected at events such as the Dallas Cowboys games and other entertainments. In 2014, Cowboys Stadium will host the NCAA’s March Madness basketball championship game on April 7.

Dear Editor,

If an explosion of any kind could take place near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, who’s to say something like this wouldn’t happen at the site of a large sporting arena (like Cowboys Stadium)? Jerry Jones can have the best security people working for him, but his stadium will never be ammune to a possible terrorist attack. And let’s face it, no place will.
