Rep. Veasey introduces veterans and healthy lifestyle bills in Congress

Rep. Marc Veasey

H.R.1816 and H.RES.195 Introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives

Congressman Marc Veasey has introduced his first two pieces of legislation in Congress.  The first bill, H.R.1816, is a Veterans’ STEM Education Program which would provide additional educational assistance under the Post-9/11 GI Bill to veterans pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  With over 20,000 veterans in the 33rd Congressional District, Congressman Veasey is committed to supporting our veterans and ensuring they receive the training and educational assistance they deserve.

The second bill, H.Res. 195, is a resolution that designates May as “Health and Fitness Month,” which encourages Americans to lead healthy lifestyles.  Congressman Veasey will participate in activities in the district throughout the month to raise awareness around this important topic.

“I am proud to say that my first two bills introduced in Congress support our veterans and encourage all families to lead healthy lives.  The Veterans’ STEM Education Program is particularly critical to the 33rd District and will not only encourage study in the STEM fields, but will most importantly ensure that our veterans receive the support they need to succeed.”

In addition to introducing his first two pieces of legislation, Congressman Veasey has co-sponsored 56 bills since the start of the 113th Congress.  You can view the complete list here.
