Target data breach linked to Russian; 2 arrested with nearly 100 Target cards

targetThe data breach that endangered the credit information of up to 110 million Target customers, and possibly Neiman Marcus customers, has been linked back to a Russian citizen, CNN reported.

CNN said that the Internet security firm IntelCrawler initially pointed the finger at a 17-year-old Russian, but has now identified a Ukrainian as also being involved in writing and distributing the software that enabled the breach at Target and Neiman Marcus, which reportedly dates back to July.

According to an Associated Press report, two Mexican citizens were arrested after they arrived at the border crossing in McAllen with 96 fraudulent credit cards containing information of South Texas residents stolen in the Target breach.
