Letter to the Editor: Get out and vote for Joyce Foreman for Dallas ISD

Joyce Foreman has spent years speaking out as a community activist.
Joyce Foreman has spent years speaking out as a community activist.

Dear Voter,

I am Robert D. Jones Sr., a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces and a Dallas ISD stakeholder. There Is No Substitute for Excellence!

I would like to voice my sentiments regarding Joyce Foreman. I am very aware and thankful for all the gifts that she brings to our families and communities.

Ms. Foreman has always fought for the future of our children.

Our school children are being discouraged in testing mill facilities, dummied down, and then routed into pipelines of failure leading to prison plantations and poverty. Most of the challenges along the way have been due to the legacy of an unaccountable system stacked negatively against their future.

Ms. Foreman understands that we the people are in warfare for the future of our children, and recognizes the fact that so many other so called advocates never really cared about our children’s future, but see our children’s education as a political hustle or economic opportunity to exploit and make a profit. Many parents and even the mayor have finally lost confidence in Dallas ISD leadership. This is the primary motivation behind the rushed home rule initiative.

Electing Joyce Foreman to the board will restore confidence in Dallas ISD leadership. Ms. Foreman is committed to ensuring every student in Dallas ISD gets a quality education.

In 2012 we fought for our children’s 11 elementary and middle schools to stay open. Where was the other candidate? It is unfortunate that others can be bought and pawned without shame and suffer no legal ramifications.

Ms. Foreman will let you know our kids’ are not for sale.

Joyce Foreman is a highly qualified leader with integrity who actively advocates for accountability of those responsible for the school system. In plain talk, she really cares and she will make sure everyone knows the truth about what is going on.

As a parent it is my opinion everyone should be more proactive and get out and vote for Joyce Foreman.

Respectfully,

Robert D. Jones Sr.
