Star Wars vs. Batman – Which one won the trailer faceoff

star warsBy Ruth Ferguson, NDG Editor

This morning listening to J.J. Abrams and company discuss how people gathered in a stadium to watch the new trailer of Star Wars in an interview, they sounded like it was a religious experience of the Easter Sunrise Service variety. As someone who has never seen the original three Star Wars flicks, my initial reaction was “please get over yourselves.”

Then I watched the trailer. OK, yes it is impressive. I didn’t see singing angels, but seeing one of my favorite actors Harrison Ford, who recently crashed landed his plane might be close.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Official Teaser Trailer #2 (2015) - Star Wars Movie HD

So, as the Internet worked itself into a frenzy over Star Wars, I log off and log back on and the frenzy is over Batman vs. Superman. Which to a girl who is not into the comic book mythology and have seen a few of the movies here and there, my first question is aren’t they both the good guys? Sure Batman has a little bad boy in him but isn’t he a hero (well anti-hero at least)? So, why versus Superman.

Am I the only one that finds it a little odd that Hollywood’s biggest news of the week seems to be not what is in theaters now but two movies that are seven months to a year out?

Which trailer excites you more?
