MCOR invites corporate leaders, government officials and community leaders to come together to celebrate Plano’s diversity and explore economic and workforce development in Plano.

After opening remarks from Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere, a panel discussion will bring together leaders from education and government to discuss how Plano and Collin Country can prepare for future workforce needs. Panelists include Mabrie Jackson, North Texas Commissioner; Dr. Mary McRae, Vice President and Provost at Collin College’s Spring Creek Campus; and Texas Workforce Commission consultant Candy Slocum. The panel will be moderated by Adrian Rodriguez, Collin College trustee and this year’s Honorary Chair of the Plano International Festival. Speakers from MCOR will review the group’s mission, recent successes and vision for the future. Refreshments will be served, with live entertainment from the Plano Clarinet Choir. Supporting sponsors include the Center for American and the Law Offices of Richard A. Gump Jr. specializing in immigration law and work-site compliance.

The Leadership Reception was founded as a private event to precede and highlight the Plano International Festival, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 in downtown Plano’s Haggard Park. The Reception is co-sponsored by the City of Plano Multicultural Outreach Roundtable (MCOR) whose mission is to partner with the Plano City Council and the citizens of Plano to encourage understanding of and participation in the government process and the needs and desires of its diverse citizens.
