McKINNEY, Texas (Oct. 27, 2015) – McKinney voters will cast ballots “for” or “against” seven propositions during the General Obligation Bond Election held Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 7 a.m.7 p.m. Each proposition can be considered individually.

General obligation bonds are funds borrowed by the city for specific public purposes. Authorization to borrow must be approved by voters and are repaid with property tax revenue.

McKinney polling locations are listed in the Voter’s Guide on the website at www.mckinneytexas.org/vote.

Voters will consider these propositions:

  • Proposition No. 1: The issuance of $64,100,000 general obligation bonds for street improvements and the levy of a tax in payment thereof
  • Proposition No. 2: The issuance of $50,000,000 general obligation bonds for constructing and improving the McKinney National Airport and the levy of a tax in payment thereof
  • Proposition No. 3: The issuance of $22,500,000 general obligation bonds for public safety facilities and the levy of a tax in payment thereof
  • Proposition No. 4: The issuance of $11,700,000 general obligation bonds for municipal buildings improvements and the levy of a tax in payment thereof
  • Proposition No. 5: The issuance of $10,000,000 general obligation bonds for downtown parking facilities and the levy of a tax in payment thereof
  • Proposition No. 6: The issuance of $2,000,000 general obligation bonds for flood protection and the levy of a tax in payment thereof
  • Proposition No. 7: The revocation of $13,395,000 general obligation bonds for park and recreation facilities
