Carrollton’s Jimmy Porter Park Remembrance Ceremony

jimmyThe City of Carrollton’s Historic Preservation Advisory Committee (HPAC) will unveil new biographical signage for one of our community’s legendary citizens at his namesake park in a recognition ceremony on Saturday, October 8 at 10 a.m. A pick-up game of baseball will follow the ceremony that features former pro baseball player Keith Moreland who trained and learned from Jimmy Porter.

The park, located at 1871 Sherwood Lane at Josey Lane, underwent several upgrades in the last year including the pavilion and the playground structure.
