The Dallas Children’s Theater has six remaining performances of James and the Giant Peach. The popular story is based on the 1961 novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. In 1996, a British-American musical fantasy film was created based on the movie, directed by Henry Selick.
Young James Henry Trotters resilience is tested when he is sent off to live with his mean aunts, Spiker and Sponge, after a chain of unfortunate incidents. Life is no fun at all there until he accidentally spills some tiny green things on a tree, and voilà, a giant peach! When James and his new oversized friends Grasshopper, Centipede, Ladybug, Earthworm, and Spider snip the stem of the peach, the quest for happiness and great adventure lands them in New York City and at the center of attention.
The production features Jori Jackson as Miss Spider. Jackson is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana and a graduate of Northwestern State University of LA with a BS in musical theatre and performance & directing.
