DFW Muslim Calendar of Events includes Day of Dignity, food fest, and upcoming play

The Muslim community of Dallas-Fort Worth have several events scheduled and invite the public to join them. 

Day of Dignity – Islamic Relief in partnership with Downtown Dallas’ Masjid Al-Islam is having their annual Day of Dignity on September 21st from 10am to 1pm. It is a day dedicated to handing out clothes, toys, food, health screenings and supplies to those in need in the South Dallas Community. The event will be located at the Martin Luther King Center on 2922 MLK Jr Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75215. They are expecting over 1700 volunteers, so please pre-register at this link.

DFW Halal Food Fest – The Valley Ranch Islamic Center is hosting a DFW Halal Food Fest on October 5th from 1pm to 7 pm. There will be food vendors representing cuisines from all over the world, as well as carnival rides and a bazaar. The address for the Islamic Center is 351 Ranchview Drive, Irving Texas 75063.

FC Dallas Muslim Family Day – Valley Ranch Islamic Center and Islamic Center of Frisco have teamed up to plan a Muslim Family Day at the FC Dallas game on October 6th. Kickoff is at 3pm and there will be a private tailgate prior to the game at 1:30 pm. Halal food will be available for purchase. Buy your tickets here.

Not Without My Hijab is a stage play that takes an inside look at a struggle faced by more young people than perhaps we realize. As Aneesa is torn between donning her hijab with confidence while navigating life as a teen and not wearing it but continuing to practice her faith, she confronts the question: Just how important is the hijab to her faith? This play will be on September 29th at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts located at 2351 Performance Dr, Richardson, Texas 75082. Buy your tickets here.
