Bishop T. D. Jakes offers words of comfort as the nation faces the coronavirus

Bishop T.D. Jakes challenges us to face the fact, we have lost our way. (Screenshot from video of the sermon on Sunday, March 15).

During his sermon on Sunday, Bishop T.D. Jakes sought to reassure congregants and others facing fears as supplies, tests run short and fears regarding jobs rise.

“We have recognized that there is more to unite us than divide us….We have discovered what we should have known without this trouble: That we need each other. That we are better together than we are apart…it could be possible that God is calling us to a place of unity that nothing else has been able to do before…we have forgotten just to be nice.”

He suggested perhaps this is a wake call opportunity for America to return to values we once treasured.

“We have forgotten the children stuck at the border…we have forgotten kids are growing up in cages. Sometimes God has to send something to shake you to remember.”

According to Jakes, we have been petty when we had an opportunity to be powerful. But that is not to suggest he is blaming God for this disease.

“God may use sickness, but he didn’t create it.”

The complete sermon is available online.

The Potter’s House is broadcasting and distributing content regularly. The resources are specifically designed to address escalating concerns as social distancing mandates from health and government authorities are increasing.

Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. CT, Jakes will moderate a special Q&A taking questions from the world over with aims to infuse hope, understanding and accurate information.

  1. Thank u, when i went to the LORD n Prayer about my fears regarding the coronavirus i heard him say GOD is n control, that’s what i believe so now all i have to do is wait on him,GOD is n control and will work it out for us all.

  2. To be honest ? This was coming and even thou it’s a shock to mankind, it’s not a shock to God at all .I was very inspired by the message TD Jake’s preached live online Sunday morning ,and believe God moved his presence away from mankind because of the stench of Sin .not just in the world but also in the church .if this does not wake up the body of Christ to get serious about the lost instead of worrying about who’s got the biggest church or the most members ,then nothing will ,let’s hope and pray that this virus will be qued soon but in the meantime we all must examine our hearts
