Black Dallas: Hallowed Ground (Ep. 01 – Booker T. Washington High School)

Long before it served to cultivate some of the most creative young minds in North Texas, Booker T. Washington High School served as an educational beacon for Dallas’ Black community. Join us as we take a moment to reflect on the contributions of this school and the faculty that served within its walls. NOTE: Filming began on this presentation in February 2020, and the project was immediately hit by the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, It was dusted off, finished and is being presented to commemorate the 100th anniversary of its opening during Black History Month 2023. Keep track of all the news and events for Dallas’ minority community at the North Dallas Gazette website.
