Tony Award-Winning Musical “The Outsiders” Coming to Dallas This November

DALLAS — Broadway Dallas and Broadway Across America will present The Outsiders, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, at the Music Hall at Fair Park from November 4–16, 2025.

Set in 1967 Tulsa, Oklahoma, the story follows Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, and their Greaser family as they confront the affluent Socs.

The musical explores friendship, identity, and belonging as the characters navigate a world that may never accept them.

Based on S.E. Hinton’s novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s film, the Broadway production opened April 11, 2024, to sold-out audiences at the Jacobs Theatre in New York. The show has won four 2024 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and continues to draw rave reviews.

Critics praise the production’s energy and heart. The New York Times calls it “stunning, electrifying, astonishing,” while Entertainment Weekly says it has “the power to inspire an entire generation.” New York Magazine describes the choreography as “high-octane and exhilarating,” and Time Out New York calls it “raw and pulse-pounding.”

The production is directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor and features a book by Tony nominee Adam Rapp.  Along with music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Justin Levine. Music and lyrics are by Jamestown Revival and Justin Levine, with choreography by Tony nominees Rick and Jeff Kuperman.

The Outsiders also features award-winning design elements, including lighting by Tony winner Brian MacDevitt, sound by Tony winner Cody Spencer, projections by Tony winner Hana S. Kim, and costume design by Sarafina Bush. Hair, wigs, makeup, and special effects are handled by industry experts to create a fully immersive experience.

The touring production is produced by The Araca Group, American Zoetrope. Olympus Theatricals, and multiple collaborators, including Angelina Jolie and The Shubert Organization.

For Dallas audiences, The Outsiders promises dynamic performances. With emotional depth, and a stirring original score that highlights themes of courage and loyalty.

Tickets are expected to sell quickly, and audiences are encouraged to purchase early. Approved production photos and b-roll are available upon request.
