Dallas College to Host ‘Send Silence Packing’ Exhibit Powerful Exhibit Raises Awareness About Suicide Prevention and Mental Health

Dallas College invites the community to experience the Active Minds Send Silence Packing® exhibit at its Brookhaven Campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13. The powerful traveling exhibit raises awareness about mental health and suicide prevention while connecting individuals to vital mental health resources.

The exhibit displays a moving collection of backpacks, each symbolizing a life lost to suicide. Personal stories and experiences from real people accompany the display, illustrating the human side of the mental health crisis. The goal of the event is to “send silence packing” by sparking conversation, reducing stigma, and encouraging individuals to seek help when struggling.

Organizers say the visual impact of the backpacks and shared stories creates a compelling call to action for mental wellness, support, and connection within the community.
