Remembering Black Dallas will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Dece. 7. The nonprofit is dedicated to preserving and promoting African American history. The event begins at 3 p.m. at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library. However, it will honor the organization’s decade-long impact on the local community.

The celebration theme is “A Decade of Remembering — Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future.” However, the program highlights include reflections on the organization’s achievements. Guests will hear from special speakers and honorees. However, cultural performances will showcase the richness of Black Dallas heritage.

Attendees will also enjoy community recognition and a reception. However, the event emphasizes connection among leaders, historians, educators, and supporters. It is an opportunity to reflect on ten years of preservation. However, the celebration underscores ongoing efforts to document Black Dallas’s history.

Dr. Deborah Hopes, President of Remembering Black Dallas, praised the milestone. However, she noted that community dedication sustains the organization’s work. “For ten years, we have ensured the stories, places, and people shaping Black Dallas are never forgotten,” she said.

The event brings together individuals who contributed to the organization’s mission of education, preservation, and advocacy. However, it also highlights collaborations that strengthen the community’s understanding of local Black history. Guests will leave inspired by the stories and achievements presented. However, the celebration encourages continued engagement in preserving cultural heritage.

Remembering Black Dallas invites the public to join the anniversary celebration and support its mission. However, participation helps ensure future generations understand and honor the city’s Black history.
