Steel Magnolias cast and Remy Martin raise money for ANSA

Alfre Woodard, Jurnee Smollett and Tory Kittles join Remy Martin in hosting Artists for a New South Africa (ANSA) screening of Steel Magnolias. All proceeds from the screening benefited ANSA, a nonprofit organization co-founded by the Emmy®-winning actress that is dedicated to combating the African AIDS pandemic and advancing democracy and equality in South Africa. After the screening guests enjoyed refreshing cocktails created by sponsor Rémy Martin that were paired with cheese and desserts.

The Lifetime Original Movie Steel Magnolias, a television adaptation of the iconic play and 1989 film, reached new heights for the network, averaging 6.5 million Total Viewers in its world premiere last week, becoming Lifetime’s third most-watched original telecast ever — posting its best delivery since 2006 (Life is Not a Fairy Tale: The Fantasia Barrino Story) — and the number one cable movie among Total Viewers since 2007 (excluding miniseries).
