If you foolishly plan to drink and drive – suggest you don’t do it in Dallas.
The Dallas Police Department will conduct a No-Refusal DWI Initiative during the New Year’s holiday. This initiative will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 and will end at 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.
During this initiative officers, will secure a search warrant for a blood sample from all persons arrested for DWI who refuse to voluntarily give a breath and/or blood sample.
Keep in mind also several cities throughout the Metroplex have the same or similar policies as they strive to keep everyone safe during the holiday season.
At the end of the day, do you want to be the person that causes injury to an innocent family or yourself? Enjoy the holidays but do not drink and drive. No matter how good of a driver you think you are, you cannot change chemical realities. When you drink the reaction abilities of your body and mind change. A split second could be the difference between tragedy and safely arriving home – for you, your passengers and other drivers on the road.
